General Information

Darlington Orchestra

Owing to the current coronavirus situation the church authorities have suspended use of the Hall to all users. There will be NO REHEARSAL on Tuesday Jan 11. Instead we plan to hold a Zoom meeting to discuss the situation.

Special Covid conditions will be observed: These condition have been left on the site because it is probable they will apply when rehearsals restart.

There is a limit of 40 people in the hall (social distancing calculation)

All windows and doors are to remain open – they will be opened before we arrive and closed after we leave.

Masks are to be worn (with the usual exemptions) at all times in the hall – except for blowing instruments. Once seated chairs to be 1m with masks, or 2m if we don’t wear masks. All wind and brass chairs 2m apart. Masks to be worn when not seated

All woodwind and brass players need to be seated along the side adjacent to the open windows and the fire exit. (the wall that would be on David’s left if he is at his usual conducting position and not our usual position)

A one way system is to be used, normal entrance, exiting out of the fire door

A register is to be kept each week

The chairs will be put out for us and cleared away after we have left, so that they can be cleaned as per the diocese risk assessment

Sanitiser is provided at the entrance, in the hall, by the exit, and must be used on entering / moving round the hall

During breaks players to stay in their seats and only consume their own food and drinks

One person in the toilet at one time

Social distancing to be adhered to at all times – 2m or 1m with masks, this would be during setting up instruments and packing away

Can’t enforce it but suggest LFTs could be done by members

Several concerts have been  CANCELLED owing to COVID-19. There will not be a Winter Concert in January 2022; we hope to have better news for a concert soon. It will be at The Dolphin Centre, Darlington DL1 5RP.
